Home Front

Home Front is a social initiative established to furnish the homes of families affected by the war and to give them a sense of home wherever they go.

We opened a 1,500 sq/m hangar at Carmei Har Hanegev Farm in Ein HaHoresh in the Hefer Valley Regional Council and transformed it into a huge sprawling free-of-charge wonder shop.

Displaced families from the Gaza Envelope and the North, families of the wounded, the hostages, reservists, and social‐welfare families all benefit.

The initiative helps families equip their homes—from spoons to sofas.

At its heart stands a 1,700 sq/m free store divided into 20 departments, ranging from housewares, textiles, a greenhouse, rugs, furniture, art, vintage items, and more.

Within the hangar there is a communal kitchen, an event lounge, and a workshop space for art and furniture upcycling. The initiative has helped over 2,300 families across Israel furnish their homes.

Home Front was founded by the Robinson family about a week after the outbreak of the war. Orly Robinson and her children Ido and Adia, together with her partner Ted Barr, launched the project. It is managed in collaboration with Mati Glazer and 150 dedicated volunteers who consider it their privilege to aid in restoring individual, family, and national resilience. “It takes a community to make a house a home.” The initiative is based on Zionist principles and has won numerous awards.
