The grief of bereaved friends is a quiet grief - often invisible. It is a deep and painful loss, yet one that does not receive social or institutional recognition.
Friends are not included in the official definition of “bereaved family,” and therefore are often left alone with their pain - without language, without a framework, and without a safe place to lay down their grief.
“Nuema” works for recognition and support for you, bereaved friends - those who lost close friends, yet are not considered “bereaved family” in the official sense. We strive to offer you a place, a language, and a community, and to illuminate your unique place within the circle of loss and remembrance.
