"Israel Shelanu"

A project created by native-born Israelis (Tzabarim) and immigrants, for the benefit of new immigrants, established to ensure optimal absorption of the large immigration wave from Russia and Ukraine over the past decade, through volunteer-based communities and hands-on initiatives.

עולה חדש מישראל שלנו

Over the past decade, approximately 250,000 new immigrants have arrived in Israel from the countries of the former Soviet Union—about one-third of them are young, educated adults. Many struggle to integrate socially, culturally, and professionally, and at times experience alienation or social disconnection, despite their strong desire to take an active part in Israeli society. Unfortunately, some even leave Israel despite the significant investment made in their absorption.

The initiative was established in 2023 in partnership with both veteran and new immigrants from the former Soviet Union, who are closely familiar with the challenges, cultural background, and needs of the younger generation. “Israel Shelanu” works to promote the successful integration of immigrants and to engage them in volunteering, employment, Israeli society, and culture, while fostering deep connections with young native-born Israelis (Tzabarim).

The project's mission is to build and support young immigrant communities from former Soviet Union countries, strengthen their integration into Israeli society, cultivate personal and Jewish-Israeli identity, create a social and cultural support network, and connect them to meaningful social action throughout the country.
